Platform Engineer

Platform Engineer - Edinburgh - outside IR35 - 6 month contract

Are you an Platform Engineer with experience of working on Site Resilience projects?

I have an immediate contract opportunity in Edinburgh for a Platform Engineer to support and enhance existing storage and virtual platforms for a public sector client. Some of the work will involve contributing to NVMe adoption, enhancing organisational resilience, expanding backup services, and improving platform engineering for vMotion setup.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with the Product Managers and Technology teams to define and prioritise platform roadmaps
• Support virtual and storage platform development
• Propose and implement platform improvements
• Manage platform health, capacity, and integrity
• Monitor storage and archiving procedures
• Support disaster recovery events

Skills Required:

• Proven experience with VMWare, Cisco UCS, NSX environments
• Skilled in disaster recovery planning, platform monitoring, and infrastructure as code
• Proficient in Windows, RHEL operating systems, Agile working practices
• Experience with Grafana, Fibre Channel Fabrics, and Cisco switching
