Commercial legal counsel @major infrastructure business
Legal Counsel – IP & Technology | London (Hybrid)
Are you a commercially minded lawyer with a passion for technology, data, and innovation? This is a unique opportunity to play a key legal role in one of the UK's most ambitious infrastructure projects — driving forward complex technology, IP, and data arrangements that sit at the heart of the UK's clean energy transition.
You'll be part of a collaborative and high-performing legal team supporting a large-scale, high-value project with national importance. The role offers a rare blend of cutting-edge technology, digital transformation, and infrastructure delivery — perfect for a lawyer who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced, and intellectually stimulating environments.
What you'll be doing:
- Advising on a wide range of IT and commercial contracts, from SaaS and software licences to digital transformation and cloud infrastructure.
- Managing complex intellectual property and data sharing arrangements across multiple partners and stakeholders.
- Providing expert guidance on privacy, cyber, AI, and emerging technology regulation.
- Supporting strategic decisions on systems and digital programmes that underpin long-term infrastructure delivery.
- Collaborating with senior stakeholders and external counsel to ensure timely, compliant, and commercially sound outcomes.
What we're looking for:
- Qualified lawyer (England & Wales at least 3PQE+)
- Solid experience in commercial law; IP, data protection and cyber experience a plus.
- Strong commercial judgment and ability to balance legal risk with practical delivery.
- Excellent communicator, able to translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable advice.
- Proactive, adaptable and comfortable operating in a fast-moving, multi-stakeholder environment.
