Field Service Technician
*Field Service Installer **Location:* Field-based
*Reports To:* Field Engineering Manager *About the Role:* The *Field Service Installer* plays a vital, customer-facing role responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely decommissioning and installation of Point-of-Sale (POS) equipment within retail environments. You will travel to various sites across the UK, ensuring high-quality work and excellent customer service at every visit. This role is ideal for someone with previous *field service*, *shopfitting*, or *technical installation* experience who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys working independently on-site. *Key Responsibilities** Safely decommission and remove existing POS hardware and related equipment from customer sites.
* Assemble and install new POS systems, ensuring units are securely fitted to counters and meet configuration requirements.
* Maintain clear, proactive communication with the Field Resource Controller (Helpdesk), providing real-time ticket updates and progress reports.
* Ensure all work meets company standards and complies with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
* Diagnose and resolve on-site issues, escalating to the Field Engineering or Incident Management teams as needed.
* Accurately record installation and decommissioning details, including site reports, photographs, and sign-offs. *Skills & Experience Required:** Previous experience as a Field Service / Fit-out Installer advantageous.
* Competent in assembling, mounting, and configuring technical or mechanical equipment.
* Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
* Good understanding of Health & Safety practices and working safely on customer sites.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel, access to a van is desired but not essential as this can be provided. Working Monday - Friday between 8am-6pm offering an hourly rate of £13.94.
