Head of Solution Delivery

The Role

The Head of Solution Delivery is responsible for defining and executing the strategic vision for technology delivery across Outsourcing Great Britain. The role ensures end-to-end delivery of scalable, secure, and high-quality technology solutions that enable business outcomes and long-term platform evolution.

Leading cross-functional teams across Solution Architecture, Software & Data Engineering, and Quality Assurance, the role owns the full delivery lifecycle—from design through implementation and transition to BAU—while driving delivery excellence, reducing technical debt, and embedding modern delivery practices.

As a senior member of the Technology Management Team, the role acts as the technology authority in governance forums, providing clear leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver the technology delivery strategy and roadmaps aligned to business priorities.
  • Lead and develop senior engineering, architecture, and QA leaders.
  • Own end-to-end solution delivery, ensuring quality, scalability, security, and resilience.
  • Embed architecture-driven agile delivery, DevOps, and automation-first practices.
  • Govern delivery performance, risks, resources, and investment priorities.
  • Oversee solution architecture, data integration, and platform standards.
  • Establish and maintain a strong quality assurance strategy based on automation and shift-left testing.
  • Act as the senior technology voice in steering committees and governance forums.
  • Manage key vendor relationships and third-party delivery partners.

Experience & Capabilities

  • 10–15 years’ experience delivering complex enterprise technology solutions.
  • Strong leadership across architecture, software engineering, data, and QA.
  • Proven experience with Agile delivery, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and platform-first engineering.
  • Deep understanding of system integration, data architecture, and security-by-design.
  • Able to translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
  • Experienced in leading senior stakeholders, governance, and transformation initiatives.
