About the Role
We are seeking an Intelligent Automation Technical Lead to drive the development and delivery of end-to-end AI and automation solutions across underwriting, claims, and broader business functions. This role sits within a growing Strategic Analytics team that leverages real-time analytics, intelligent automation, and emerging technologies to accelerate growth, improve profitability, and enhance digital operations.
You will partner closely with business and technology leaders to shape automation strategy, deliver AI-driven solutions, and provide technical leadership to both onshore and offshore resources. This position plays a key role in building an enterprise-wide Intelligent Automation capability and establishing an AI Centre of Excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the technical delivery of intelligent automation solutions in partnership with business engagement leads
- Provide hands-on leadership and oversight for offshore automation and AI development teams
- Create and review automation solution designs aligned with industry best practices
- Advise on intelligent automation cost optimization, including tokenization and related concepts
- Serve as a subject matter expert across AI/ML, LLMs, NLP, IDP/OCR, computer vision, and automation technologies
- Lead the design and execution of technical and business-focused proof-of-concepts, coordinating with data engineers, data scientists, business stakeholders, and vendors
- Contribute to the development of an organizational AI Centre of Excellence
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven track record of leadership across people management, project delivery, and technical strategy
- Significant experience in analytics and/or automation roles, preferably within the insurance sector
- Demonstrated success in an Analytics or Automation management position
- Ability to break down ambiguous or complex business problems into structured, actionable solutions
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Effective communication skills tailored to technical and non-technical audiences
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, highly collaborative global environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and evolving business needs
- Real-world experience applying LLMs to business-driven use cases
Desired Skills & Experience
- Must have insurance experience
- Background in P&C insurance process analysis, process improvement, and automation
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams delivering complex technology solutions
- Experience defining technology requirements and optimizing business processes
- Python development experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative field
