It Assistant

The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, assisting users with technical queries, supporting the IT team in maintaining systems and networks, and communication with internal teams and external vendors. The IT Assistant is a key contributor to maintaining operational efficiency and ensuring user satisfaction.

Responsibilites:

Technical Support: provide 1st line support to employees for hardware, software, and network related issues, resolving problems promptly or escalating as needed.

System Maintenance: assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, software applications, and network equipment.

User Assistance: help users with account setup, password resets, and access to IT resources, ensuring seamless user experience.

Hardware Management: set up, troubleshoot, and repair computer hardware, including desktops, laptops, printers, mobiles, and peripherals.

Software Support: install and update software applications, ensuring compatibility and compliance with organisational standards.

Network Assistance: support network connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi, LAN, and VPN configurations, under the guidance of senior IT staff where necessary.

Documentation: maintain accurate records of IT inventory and software licenses, support tickets, user issues and documenting resolutions for future reference.

Security Compliance: assist in implementing security protocols, such as updating antivirus software and ensuring data backups are performed regularly.

Training and Guidance: provide basic training to employees on the use of IT systems, software, and best practises for cybersecurity.

Team Collaboration: work closely with the IT team to support projects, system upgrades, and other technical initiatives.

Other: develop a comprehensive understanding and provide support to end users of Prophet ERP and other key resource planning applications within business.

Key Competencies

  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or similar role.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
    • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, iOS, Android)
    • Knowledge of network protocols, cloud services, and cybersecurity basics.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and common software applications.
    • Experience with ERP Systems (Preferred).

    • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
