Security Engineer
Salary: £70k - £90K (Depending on Experience)
Travel: 2 days a week in Central London Office (3 days WFH)
Financial Services company is seeking a skilled Security Engineer with strong experience in Azure environments and a track record of working within lean Cyber Security teams (approx. 5 people). This is a broad, hands-on role split between Security Operations and project-based work across Azure, Zero Trust, DLP, and IAM.
You'll play a pivotal role in both the day-to-day running of security operations and the strategic delivery of cloud security initiatives. The role demands a proactive mindset and a collaborative approach & someone who's comfortable translating complex security issues into business-friendly language and helping drive security best practices across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Split focus:
- 50% on Security Operations (monitoring, threat detection, incident response)
- 50% on project delivery (Azure, Zero Trust, DLP, IAM)
- Embed security controls and guardrails within Azure environments
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external assurance frameworks
- Support deployment and optimisation of tools such as Microsoft E5, Qualys, Zscaler, and Forcepoint
- Collaborate with stakeholders to clearly communicate technical risks and recommendations
Key Skills & Experience
- Deep experience in Azure Security, including guardrails and governance
- Preferably hands-on knowledge of tools such as Microsoft E5, Qualys, Zscaler, Forcepoint
- Familiar with DLP, IAM, and Zero Trust concepts
- Experience working in small, agile security teams
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to engage non-technical stakeholders and promote security awareness
- Preferred certifications: CISSP, AZ-500
