Portfolio Solutions MI Analyst

We are recruiting for a MI Analyst with strong digital/ portfolio solutions experience to join one o four Insurance clients on a 3 month contract.

Hybrid- 2 days a week onsite in London

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main Data & Analytics representative for Digital Platform and Broker Connectivity, owning MI design, delivery and communication.
  • Rebuild for digital trading decommissioning (project): plan and deliver data model/ETL rebuilds and report migrations as legacy tables are retired and the Pricing Data Model is adopted.
  • Data modelling, ETL and Power BI development (ongoing): design and maintain conceptual, logical and semantic models; shape performant, scalable datasets; build accurate, responsive dashboards as the Digital Platform rolls out across countries and products.
  • Bordereaux and block payments (project/ongoing): design, build and maintain bordereaux solutions, reconciliations and linking to claims for pricing and performance MI.
  • Digital Working Group participation (ongoing): contribute to ensuring digital data is accessible, accurate and fit for purpose for actuarial, underwriting and portfolio management.
  • MI/reporting advisory and governance (ongoing): advise on MI best practice, feasibility and the representation of requirements within the current stack; ensure consistency and alignment to standards.

Experience:

  • Strong insurance experience acting as a data/MI lead in delegated, digital or portfolio solutions initiatives, with demonstrable stakeholder management and delivery in a complex environment.
  • Excellent Power BI skills: data modelling (star schemas), DAX, performance optimisation, UX best practice, row-level security, and governance of shared datasets/workspaces.
  • Strong SQL across Microsoft SQL Server/SSMS; able to design and write performant queries, views and stored procedures; comfortable shaping data for analytics.
  • Solid data design skills: translating business concepts into conceptual/logical models; aligning to enterprise models; managing reference/master data dependencies.
  • Data governance mindset: experience with metadata, lineage, data readiness templates, master data sourcing, and reconciliations; familiarity with data quality tooling (e.g., DQ Pro) and controls.
