- Location: Solihull (Hybrid)
- Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + benefits
An established organisation is seeking an experienced Project Planner to join a central transformation/PMO function. This role plays a key part in developing and maintaining high-quality project and programme schedules across a complex portfolio of change.
You will provide clear, realistic plans, manage dependencies, highlight risks, and offer meaningful insight to support governance and senior decision-making.
The Role
Working as part of a PMO/Transformation Office, the Project Planner will:
- Develop and maintain detailed project and programme schedules
- Build integrated plans showing cross-project dependencies and critical paths
- Track milestones, manage baselines, and highlight variances
- Identify schedule risks and support mitigation planning
- Provide clear planning insight for portfolio reviews, governance and leadership forums
- Support scenario planning, re-planning and recovery activities
- Promote consistent planning standards and best practice across delivery teams
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Business Change, Technology teams and third-party suppliers
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling
- Create and maintain detailed schedules including tasks, sequencing and dependencies
- Develop integrated programme and portfolio plans
- Work with stakeholders to review progress and update plans
Assurance & Control
- Apply PMO planning standards and challenge assumptions where required
- Maintain baselines and track schedule variance
Insight & Reporting
- Produce concise planning insights highlighting risks, impacts and decisions required
Tools & Data Quality
- Maintain accurate planning data using tools such as MS Project, Asana or Smartsheet
About You
Essential
- Strong experience planning within complex, multi-project or programme environments
- Proven ability to build and manage integrated schedules with multiple dependencies
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills
- Confident communicator, able to translate technical planning data into clear insight
- Proficiency with planning/PPM tools (e.g. MS Project, Asana, Smartsheet)
- Understanding of project governance and methodologies (PRINCE2, MSP, P3O or similar)
Desirable
- Experience within transformation, technology or business change programmes
- Exposure to risk, resource or financial planning
