Field IT technician

IT Infrastructure Specialist (Field Based) Location: Staffordshire, with UK-wide travel required Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Up to £40,000 + Benefits Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence required About the Role We’re looking for a hands-on IT Infrastructure Specialist to join our clients Office Excellence IT Team. This role is critical in supporting and maintaining IT infrastructure across multiple UK office locations, particularly during office refits, relocations, and acquisitions. You’ll be working with a wide range of technologies including networking equipment, AV systems, and multifunction devices.Key Responsibilities Office IT Setup & Maintenance

• Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware including MFDs, wireless access points, Cisco switches, firewalls, and AV systems.
• Support office refits and relocations with efficient and secure IT infrastructure deployment.
• Perform break/fix tasks and general IT maintenance across all office sites.

Networking & Infrastructure

• Troubleshoot and optimise network performance across multiple locations.
• Collaborate with central IT teams to ensure consistent standards and security protocols.
• Assist with firewall configuration and network segmentation.

Acquisition Onboarding

• Lead IT setup and integration for newly acquired offices.
• Ensure smooth transition of systems and infrastructure into the existing IT environment.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of installations, configurations, and maintenance activities.
• Provide feedback and suggestions to improve office IT standards.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in IT infrastructure support, ideally across multiple sites.
• Strong knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN), Cisco switches, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
• Hands-on experience with AV systems and multifunction devices (MFDs).
• Ability to work independently and travel frequently across the UK.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
