Service Designer

Daily rate: £550 inside IR35

Duration: initial contract runs until 31st March

Location: Fully remote (UK based only)

Responsibilities:

Designing services based on real user needs, evidenced through research and testing
Applying UCD methods across the full service life cycle
Working to the Service Standard
Designing across online and offline touchpoints
Understanding policy, operations, technology, and user needs as one system
Creating and using service blueprints, journey maps, ecosystems, and flows
Using artefacts to align teams and support decision-making (not just as outputs)
Working closely with researchers, content designers, interaction designers, developers, policy and ops
Facilitating workshops and co-design sessions
Designing for accessibility, assisted digital, and diverse user needs
Meeting WCAG and inclusive design principles
Using research, data, and feedback to justify design choices
Iterating services based on insights and outcomes
Awareness of governance, security, procurement, and Legacy systems
Designing pragmatic solutions within those constraints
