Business Analyst (Maternity Cover) – Agile | Digital | London Contract: Fixed-term maternity cover Location: London (Hybrid)Industry: Global Ecommerce Tools: Microsoft 365, Jira, Confluence, Agile Scrum About the Role We are seeking a proactive Business Analyst to join our Agile development team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. This is a key position responsible for driving business-wide development prioritisation, analysing incoming requests, and ensuring our internal platforms continue to evolve and deliver real value.If you’re an experienced BA who thrives in fast-paced, Agile environments and enjoys working closely with developers, testers, and senior stakeholders, this role offers a perfect blend of ownership, collaboration, and problem-solving.Key Responsibilities Development Prioritisation & Backlog Ownership
- Review and manage all development requests from across the business.
- Prioritise work aligned with business needs and sprint capacity.
- Break down and refine requirements into clear user stories ready for development.
- Work with internal users to gather requirements, define acceptance criteria, and communicate sprint outcomes.
- Act as the link between business stakeholders, the Scrum Master, tester, and Director of IT.
- Provide transparent updates on progress, timelines, and delivery expectations.
- Collaborate daily with developers, tester, and Scrum Master.
- Support sprint planning by preparing stories and ensuring clarity of requirements.
- Help remove blockers by clarifying needs and gathering additional details where required.
- Work closely with the full-time tester to ensure requirements are testable and quality standards are met (though you won’t be performing testing).
- Strong experience as a Business Analyst in an Agile (Scrum) environment.
- Confident using Microsoft 365, Jira, and Confluence.
- Track record of writing detailed user stories and breaking down complex requirements.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and manage stakeholders.
- Experience working on website projects, platform enhancements, or content-related systems.
- Exposure to Salesforce, CMS platforms, or bespoke internal systems (not essential).
- Experience working with distributed teams or across time zones.
