Our client, a well-established MSP based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, is seeking a proactive and highly skilled IT professional to join their growing technical team.
About the Role
As a 3rd Line Support Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional technical support to a diverse client base across a range of technologies and industries. You'll work closely with the Service Desk Manager, ensuring that tickets are resolved efficiently, SLAs are consistently met, and the overall service delivery remains of the highest standard.
This position also includes an important mentoring and training component - you'll help develop junior team members, sharing your knowledge and best practices to strengthen the team's overall capability.
Key Responsibilities
Provide advanced technical support across a broad range of technologies (Microsoft, networking, cloud, security, etc.)
Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues from 1st and 2nd line teams
Liaise closely with the Service Desk Manager to monitor ticket queues, ensure SLA compliance, and improve service delivery processes
Assist in mentoring, training, and developing service desk staff
Contribute to documentation, knowledge base articles, and process improvement
Work on infrastructure projects, system upgrades, and migrations as required
Key Skills & Experience
Strong background in 3rd line support within an MSP environment
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, O365, Azure, Active Directory, etc.)
Solid understanding of networking (Firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services
Strong communication and leadership skills with a collaborative approach
Proven ability to mentor junior staff and support their technical growth
