Technical Support Engineer

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30

Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Salary: £28,000-£35,000 DOE

The Role

Our client is seeking a proactive, technically capable Technical Support Engineer to join their office-based support team. This role will involve delivering high-quality remote support using PSA and RMM tools, responding to inbound telephone queries, and supporting clients across a wide range of sectors including care and legal services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient, high-quality remote technical support to end users
  • Manage and maintain Microsoft 365 tenants, including Exchange, SharePoint, Azure AD, and Endpoint Manager
  • Install and configure Windows 11 devices and mobile devices
  • Diagnose and resolve issues including mail flow, security, and client configuration
  • Accurately document faults, fixes, and technical procedures
  • Ensure cyber security best practices are consistently followed
  • Take full ownership of support tickets through to resolution

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Office applications (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Word, Excel)
  • Experience installing and configuring Windows operating systems and software
  • Working knowledge of diagnostic tools such as Event Viewer and Command Prompt
  • Excellent communication skills with a proactive, customer-focused approach
  • Ability to take ownership of issues and manage workloads effectively

Desirable Skills

  • Networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, subnetting, topologies)
  • Experience with Windows Server environments (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP)
  • Exposure to backup solutions, IP telephony, and managed Wi-Fi solutions
