Active Directory Consultant – 6-Month Contract

💷 £58 per hour (Inside IR35)

REMOTE CONTRACT

We are seeking an experienced Active Directory Consultant to support a major AD transformation programme. This role will focus on assessing the current environment, designing the future-state AD architecture , and defining the end-to-end migration approach for a large, multi-site organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Active Directory Design & Architecture:
• Lead the definition of the future-state AD environment, including domain structure, OU design, group policies, identity governance, access models, and security controls. Provide architectural guidance to ensure the new AD landscape is scalable, secure and aligned with organisational needs.
• AD Migration Planning:
• Produce a comprehensive target migration plan , covering system dependencies, user/device migration sequencing, directory consolidation, identity synchronisation (e.g., Azure AD/Entra), and risk mitigation strategies.
• Current-State Assessment:
• Review the existing AD estate, identifying gaps, technical debt, configuration issues, and opportunities for optimisation to inform the migration approach and architecture decisions.
• Technical Leadership:
• Work closely with Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Cloud, and Application teams to ensure all functional, technical, and security considerations are incorporated into the final design and migration roadmap.
• Documentation & Delivery Support:
• Create detailed architectural documents, migration playbooks, high-level/low-level designs, and operational guidelines to support execution teams during the transformation
