Infrastructure Engineer - Manufacturing & Logistics Location: Fully On-Site, Leicester Salary: Up to £50,000

The Role: We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with a proven background in the manufacturing and logistics sector to join a rapidly expanding UK business. Supporting over 400 users across multiple production plants, warehouses, and distribution centres, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the IT infrastructure that underpins 24/7 operations.

This is a hands-on position combining BAU infrastructure support with project delivery. You'll be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of systems that directly impact production efficiency, supply chain performance, and business continuity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable IT infrastructure across manufacturing and logistics sites.

  • Manage and support Windows Server, Hyper-V, SAN storage, and disaster recovery environments.

  • Administer Active Directory, Azure AD, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.

  • Support ERP, MES, and WMS platforms critical to manufacturing and supply chain operations.

  • Monitor system performance, ensuring minimal downtime in a 24/7 production environment.

  • Manage Veeam backups, replication, and disaster recovery testing.

  • Provide support for network infrastructure (firewalls, switches, wireless access points) across sites.

  • Collaborate with production and logistics teams to deliver IT projects that drive efficiency and automation.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards around security, data protection, and uptime.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Demonstrable experience as an Infrastructure Engineer within manufacturing, logistics, or a related industry.

  • Strong technical background in Microsoft environments (Windows Server, Azure, AD, Hyper-V).

  • Good understanding of networking (firewalls, VPN, VLANs, routing/switching).

  • Previous exposure to ERP, MES, or WMS systems within industrial settings.

  • Proven disaster recovery and backup management experience (Veeam preferred).

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure in time-critical environments.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to support both technical teams and operational staff.
