Location: Hybrid – Southampton, UK (minimum 3 days on-site)
Salary: £32,248 – £34,278 per annum
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

OverviewOur client, a leading membership-based organisation, is seeking a PHP Developer to join their expanding digital team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled developer with a passion for innovation and problem-solving to work on a large-scale in-house platform.
As the in-house specialist for back-end systems, you will play a key role in improving, maintaining, and innovating digital services that support a broad user base. The role will involve collaboration with internal stakeholders, hands-on development, and end-to-end responsibility across the software lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Build, maintain, and enhance back-end PHP-based systems.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of digital projects.
- Lead on all phases of the development lifecycle.
- Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and improve user experience.
- Integrate and align multiple digital systems to ensure consistency and functionality.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in PHP development (including outside frameworks).
- Strong understanding of the MVC programming approach.
- Experience with MySQL for data management.
- Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap.
- Experience with Vue.js or similar frontend frameworks.
- Proven experience developing and maintaining WordPress, including custom plugins.
Beneficial Skills & Knowledge:
- Linux usage and administration.
- Advanced MySQL and SQL administration.
- 35-hour working week.
