Our client, part of a global software group, is seeking a proactive, results-driven Sales Manager to lead its Sales Department and spearhead growth across all revenue streams. In this key leadership role, you will directly manage the New Business Lead, the Customer Success Manager (CSM), and the Existing Inbound Sales Lead.
Reporting to the EVP, you will take ownership of delivering revenue targets, shaping and executing the sales strategy, and driving strong performance through effective KPI management. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact, elevate the sales function, and contribute to the continued success of a growing software organisation.
The offices are located in Uffcott, Wroughton near Swindon, easily accessible from Junctions 15 and 16 on the M4. This is a hybrid role, with on-site presence to be agreed. Occasional travel to client sites and UK-wide conferences will be required.
What you will doYour key responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):
Leadership & Team Management- Lead and develop the New Business Lead and Customer Success Manager, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
- Maintain a strong understanding of both upsell/cross-sell and new business sales cycles and methodologies, working closely with the team to ensure alignment on sales targets, customer experience, and operational delivery.
- With more than 1,000 customers, retention is key; ensure customer excellence is delivered consistently across the business.
- Collaborate with the Professional Services (PS) Lead to ensure customers are efficiently scheduled into programmes, courses are effectively marketed, capacity is optimised, and forecasting accuracy is maintained.
- Coach, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve individual and departmental goals.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy focused on driving new business acquisition and B2B revenue growth.
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities and strategic partnerships.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align campaigns and service delivery with sales objectives.
- Define and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) across sales, ensuring consistent performance tracking and data-driven decision-making.
- Analyse pipeline metrics, conversion rates, and marketing campaign results to identify areas for improvement.
- Provide regular reports and performance insights to the EVP.
- Work closely with the CSM and PS Lead to maintain strong customer engagement, satisfaction, and retention, measured by revenue and NPS scoring.
- Ensure customer feedback informs both sales and marketing strategies.
- Promote a unified approach across departments to deliver a seamless customer journey from initial contact through to service delivery.
- Produce accurate sales forecasts, performance reports, and commercial analyses.
- Present findings, trends, and recommendations to the EVP and senior leadership team.
- Oversee the planning and execution of marketing campaigns, ensuring alignment with sales objectives and brand positioning.
- Deliver impactful content, digital campaigns, events, and customer communications.
- Monitor and evaluate lead generation performance to ensure maximum ROI on spend and activities.
- Ensure all marketing materials and communications effectively promote products, courses, and services.

- Proven experience as a Sales Manager, Commercial Manager, or Sales & Marketing Manager.
- Demonstrated success in leading sales teams to achieve ambitious revenue goals.
- Strong understanding of integrated sales strategies, KPI management, and performance reporting.
- Experience working cross-functionally with operations, customer success, and professional services teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Confident in using CRM systems.
- 5+ years of software sales and management experience.
- Strategic thinker with strong hands-on execution skills.
- Commercially astute, data-driven, and highly customer-focused.
