The situation:
I'm recruiting for an established interim specialist (15 years trading, strong North West presence) who place CFOs and Finance Directors. They're expanding into senior interim technology and need someone to lead the Manchester market.
This is an adjacent market play, not a cold start. Their finance clients repeatedly ask for ERP transformation leads, Interim CTOs, Cyber Security Directors, and Heads of Data but they don't currently have the capability to service these mandates.
The role:
You'll build and own the senior interim technology practice in Manchester, focusing on:
- Day rates: £500-£1,500 (ERP transformation, cyber security, data architecture, change leadership)
- Originating and delivering mandates for Interim CTO, Head of Data, Cyber Security Director-level roles
- Converting existing client relationships into cross-functional tech opportunities (warm introductions provided)
- Full autonomy over your approach and market strategy
- Potential to build a team as the practice scales (typically 12-18 months)
What you'll need:
- Proven track record billing £250k+ annually in interim technology recruitment
- Consultative selling ability. You can originate senior day-rate mandates, not just fill briefs
- Comfortable with autonomy but value collaboration and support
- Senior-level relationships or demonstrable ability to build new business
- Willing to be Manchester-based (hybrid: 2-3 days office)
