Technical Pensions Delivery Lead
Role Overview:
We are working with a leading pensions and professional services organisation that is seeking a Technical Delivery Lead to join its specialist Data Solutions team.
This role is ideal for an experienced pensions technical specialist who enjoys leading complex pension data and calculation projects, shaping delivery approaches, and working closely with both technical and stakeholder-facing teams. You will play a key role in delivering high-profile transformation projects such as data cleanses, benefit rectification, GMP reconciliation/equalisation, and system implementations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical delivery of complex pension data and calculation projects.
- Define technical approaches and delivery strategies for transformation projects.
- Oversee and review bespoke pension data modelling and calculation work, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Build, amend, and review Excel-based calculation models.
- Work through and support junior colleagues to deliver project work effectively.
- Manage expectations of senior stakeholders and provide clear progress updates.
- Identify project risks and issues and work with internal teams to mitigate.
- Contribute to and lead process improvement initiatives.
- Support the development and upskilling of colleagues within the team.
Skills, Experience & Qualities Required:
- Strong understanding of UK pension schemes and individual member calculations.
- Proven experience delivering bulk pension data and/or calculation projects.
- Experience leading or heavily influencing pensions transformation projects (e.g. GMP reconciliation, GMP equalisation, benefit rectification, risk settlement data cleanse, system implementation).
- Advanced Excel skills, including building and reviewing calculation models.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
