The Business Change Lead is responsible for driving organisational change initiatives that enable successful adoption of new systems, processes, and behaviours. This role ensures that change activities are embedded within project delivery and aligned with business objectives, timelines, and Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
The Business Change Lead develops and delivers proactive communication, engagement and behavioural-change strategies that prepare the organisation for upcoming change and accelerate adoption. This includes translating technical and operational impacts into clear, accessible messaging tailored to varied stakeholder groups across Operations, Asset, IT, and Security.
The Business Change Lead conducts impact assessments and readiness evaluations to identify potential risks and gaps. The Business Change Lead develops and delivers proactive communication, engagement, training, and behavioural-change strategies that prepare the organisation for upcoming change and accelerate adoption.
The Business Change Lead will continuously assess organisational readiness and identifies early signs of resistance - including cultural blockers, process gaps, competing priorities, or capability constraints. Insights from these assessments are fed back into the transition project and teams to influence design, timelines, and risk management.
By monitoring progress, reviewing risks, and supporting reinforcement activities, the Business Change Lead ensures that behavioural and process changes are sustained. This position also provides visibility and support across deliverables such as impact assessments and Stakeholder registers. Using this Information, the Business Change Lead designs targeted interventions to 'clear the path to adoption'. These may include reinforcing leadership sponsorship, crafting behaviour-led communication campaigns, highlighting training pathways, or implementing change reinforcement plans that ensure individuals and teams can successfully adopt new ways of working.
By aligning communication and training strategies with transition findings, the Business Change Lead creates a structured and supportive change environment that minimises disruption, builds confidence, and enables sustained behavioural and process change.
- Responsible for communication channels to be used by the project and ensure adherence to the communication plan.
- Support and guidance of business change deliverables (Stakeholder Registers, Business Change Impact Assessments, TNAs)
- Develop and implement change plans aligned with project objectives, timelines, and QMS requirements - aligned to area relevant comms
- Conduct readiness evaluations for OT systems and processes.
- Engage stakeholders across operations, IT, and cyber security teams to drive buy-in and support adoption.
- Monitor and report on change progress, risks, and mitigation actions.
- Support reinforcement activities post-implementation to sustain behavioural and process changes.
- Produce KPIs for business change and report progress to the Quality & Transition Manager.
- Ensure all change management documentation and evidence comply with QMS standards.
- Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Create, update and validate a value register across the projects.
- Develop and implement Customer Satisfaction Surveys and feed actionable improvements in to the Security Leadership Team to improve future project delivery
Technical Expertise:
- Experience in developing and executing change management plans.
- Ability to conduct impact assessments and readiness evaluations for technical systems.
- Proficiency in stakeholder engagement tools and communication platforms.
- Competence in KPI development and performance reporting.
- Knowledge of project delivery lifecycles
Core Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
