Senior AV Engineer- Residential

They are actively looking to expand their team by hiring a Senior Residential AV Engineer who has extensive hands-on experience with Control4, Lutron QSX, Crestron Home, and Data Networking. Key Responsibilities:

• Installation & Commissioning: Oversee and participate in the installation of residential AV systems, including TV mounting, speaker placement, and system wiring. Ensure systems are fully tested and optimised to deliver exceptional performance.
• Control & Automation Expertise: Develop and implement Control4, Lutron QSX, and Crestron Home solutions for both new build and retrofit projects, ensuring smooth, reliable control of lighting, climate, audio/video, and security systems.
• Networking Proficiency: Configure and troubleshoot advanced data networks to support AV, home automation, and streaming solutions, ensuring robust and secure system connectivity.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Provide on-site and remote technical support to clients, diagnosing and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Act as a senior technical resource, mentoring junior engineers, and leading by example in both technical proficiency and customer service.
• Client Communication: Build strong relationships with clients by delivering exceptional customer service, managing expectations, and offering technical guidance.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Extensive Experience in Residential AV Systems: Minimum of 5 years' experience in residential AV installation, programming, and commissioning, with specific expertise in Control4, Lutron QSX, Crestron Home systems.
• Advanced Knowledge of Data Networking: Strong understanding of data networks, including IP addressing, router and switch configuration, and wireless network optimisation for AV systems.
• Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of AV technologies, including audio/video distribution, control systems, automation, and integration with third-party systems.
• Programming Skills: Expertise in programming and customising Control4, Lutron QSX, and Crestron Home systems for residential environments. Familiarity with related programming languages (e.g., Lua, Python, etc.) is a plus.
• Problem-Solving Ability: Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software-related issues.
• Customer-Focused: Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to clients and offer tailored solutions.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Certifications: Relevant industry certifications such as Control4, Crestron, Lutron, or networking certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA).
• Experience with Home Networking & Security Systems: Knowledge of home security, surveillance, and networking protocols (e.g., VPN, VLAN, and firewalls) for integrated AV setups.
