Responsibilities:

As a Cyber Risk Analyst Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced professionals to help build resilience for our clients. Our small company environment offers you the chance to gain broad experience across diverse projects.

  • Support cyber risk initiatives: Assist client risk management teams in identifying, assessing, and mitigating cyber risks
  • Collaborate on digital transformation: Work with Redbay and client teams to deliver secure digital change projects
  • Coordinate risk management meetings: Organise and facilitate meetings, ensuring discussions remain focused and productive
  • Enhance risk visibility: Help create dashboards and metrics that provide clear, data-driven insights into cybersecurity risks
  • Adapt and grow: Take on additional responsibilities as needed, expanding your knowledge across different areas of cybersecurity risk

What we’re looking for:

Essential: 

  • Right to work in the UK for the duration of the programme
  • Able to travel to client offices twice a week, most of which are in Portsmouth
  • Full, clean UK driving licence and car owner as the role involves travel to client sites
  • Willingness to undergo DBS and security check. To qualify for full SC Clearance, you must have lived in the UK for the last five years, with no more than 30 consecutive days spent outside the UK

Desirable: 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting security incidents and findings
  • Ability to plan, schedule and monitor work to meet personal and team objectives
  • Experience with Office 365 - especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Understanding of the cyber security landscape
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Creative thinking techniques to contribute new ideas for personal and team activities
  • Genuine enthusiasm and passion for information and cyber security
  • Passion and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Adaptability and enjoyment of evolving job roles and responsibilities
  • Attention to detail
  • Creative and proactive mindset

Entry requirements:

  • an A Level in ICT
  • OR an International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in ICT
  • OR a Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject
  • OR a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits)

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
