IT Support Apprentice

As part of our IT team, you’ll play a key role in supporting technology solutions that keep our business running smoothly.
What you'll be doing:
As an IT Support Apprentice, you’ll gain practical experience while supporting our IT team and business users. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1st line helpdesk support for IT and business tool queries.
- Assisting with hardware and software installations, including new starter setups.
- Supporting on-site installation and decommissioning of IT services.
- Helping with basic networking tasks such as PC and printer setup.
- Maintaining and troubleshooting communication tools (Microsoft Teams, Outlook).
- Contributing to the creation of FAQs and help guides for IT troubleshooting.
- Shadowing experienced IT staff on projects and routine operational tasks.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
- A logical, problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative.
- Organisational skills and reliability.
- No prior professional IT experience required—any relevant coursework or personal projects are a plus.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Operating Systems, Active Directory, Office 365 (desirable).
- Basic networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP) (desirable).
- Experience with hardware setup and troubleshooting (desirable).
- Full, clean driver’s license and access to vehicle (desirable).
Entry requirements:
- 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
- Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject
Non-standard entry with work experience:
Relevant qualifications and/or work experience will be considered for applicants with potential to benefit from the programme.
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm or 8:30am to 4:30pm with 30 minute lunch break.
