A new exciting permanent opportunity has become available for a dedicated 2nd Line IT Systems Support Engineer, to join a growing wealth management business IT team, based in the Witney office, with the occasional travel to Henley and remote offices.
This role is crucial for supporting IT operations throughout the company, ensuring efficient and effective technology use and supporting their growth and development strategies.
Day-to-Day of the Role:- Provide second line response as part of the IT support team, handling internal queries and incidents, including telephone, remote, and deskside support.
- Serve as an effective point of contact for internal IT issues, resolving problems, escalating internally, or referring to third parties as appropriate.
- Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
- Work closely with senior IT team members to escalate any recurring problems or concerns.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of IT plans to support business growth and improve system efficiency.
- Manage relationships with third-party suppliers to ensure excellent service.
- Spend approximately 4 days each week in the Witney office and 1 day in the Henley office, with flexibility according to work requirements.
- Travel to remote offices as needed and occasionally perform weekend and out-of-hours support.
- Proven experience in IT support, ideally within a financial services environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of Windows OS (server and client), Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Experience with Microsoft Cloud, Azure, and other cloud environments.
- Knowledge of servers, networking, firewall, UPS, desktops, laptops, thin clients, and printers.
- Methodical approach, ability to work well under pressure, and attention to detail.
- Good team player with a flexible approach to the working environment.
- Desirable: Awareness of Microsoft 365, Citrix, VMWare, or other virtualisation technologies.
