Commercial Business Analyst

We are partnering with our client to recruit a Commercial Business Analyst to join their high-performing Business Intelligence team in North Europe. This role plays a key part in driving commercial performance through insight-led reporting, forecasting, and strategic analysis.

Key Responsibilities:Commercial Forecasting & Performance Tracking

  • Lead the preparation of bi-weekly and monthly order forecasts, consolidating inputs from multiple commercial stakeholders to support accurate sales planning.
  • Produce daily commercial performance reports, tracking orders, revenue trends, variances and key trading metrics.

Insight & Reporting

  • Develop, automate, and maintain weekly and monthly business reports, enabling leadership teams to make informed, data-driven decisions.
  • Deliver regular and ad hoc commercial analyses, identifying risks, opportunities, and performance drivers across markets and channels.
  • Produce and manage monthly external customer reports, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and commercial relevance.

Data Ownership & Continuous Improvement

  • Act as the commercial reference point for customer segmentation and market reporting, maintaining data integrity across SAP and Business Objects.
  • Proactively identify reporting issues or data discrepancies and drive corrective actions in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure all group reporting deadlines are met while contributing to continuous process improvements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with sales, finance, supply chain, and BI teams to support commercial initiatives and strategic projects.
  • Provide occasional support for presentations, business cases, and executive summaries, translating insights into compelling commercial narratives.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience in Business Analysis, Commercial Finance, or a similar analytical role, ideally within retail, wholesale, FMCG, or consumer goods.
  • Advanced Excel capabilities with strong experience in data manipulation, modelling, trend analysis, and dashboard creation.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to turn data into actionable insight and recommendations.
  • Experience with SAP, Business Objects, or similar ERP/reporting tools (advantageous).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with both commercial and non-commercial teams.
  • Highly proactive, organised, and adaptable, with a solution-driven mindset and strong sense of ownership.
