Interim Digital Design Contractor

Location:  Hybrid / Norwich Contract: Interim (3–6 months)Start: ASAP Project: Major Rebrand Launching April

We are partnering with a fast-growing business undergoing an exciting digital rebrand and seeking a highly creative Interim Digital Design Contractor to join their fast-paced team. This role will play a pivotal part in shaping and elevating the brand’s digital presence as they prepare for a major launch in April.

You will bring fresh ideas, a strong user-centred mindset, and a passion for creating intuitive, accessible digital experiences. The ideal candidate has deep experience in UX design, consumer behaviour, and complex digital purchase journeys—particularly for service-based brands where decision-making relies on educational content rather than traditional e-commerce flows.

The Opportunity

As the Digital Design Lead for this project, you’ll own and drive the design and evolution of high-quality, customer-centred experiences across the website, digital campaigns, and email communications. You’ll work closely with marketing and development teams to ensure that digital design supports commercial goals and delivers a best-in-class user experience across every touchpoint.

Key Responsibilities

1. Digital Experience Design

  • Lead the design across the website and key digital touchpoints, including landing pages, product/service pages, and campaign journeys.
  • Develop and test UX enhancements across the customer lifecycle.
  • Create responsive, intuitive, conversion-focused layouts rooted in strong UX/UI principles.
  • Design digital campaign assets — particularly campaign landing pages, banners, and supporting promotional materials.
  • Design email campaigns and automated flows; prepare assets for build or hand-code in HTML/CSS where needed.
  • Ensure all designs meet accessibility standards and inclusive design best practices.

2. Collaboration & Delivery

  • Work closely with front-end developers and the marketing team to bring concepts to life accurately and effectively.
  • Ensure design intent is maintained through build, QA, and final deployment.
  • Present design concepts to internal stakeholders and respond positively to feedback.

3. Brand & Quality Management

  • Maintain and evolve digital design systems, UI components, and brand guidelines.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality brand application across all digital outputs.
  • Feed into the development of the evolving brand identity, ensuring it translates seamlessly across digital channels.

4. Continuous Improvement

  • Continuously enhance the digital experience based on performance data, insight, and user feedback.

About You

  • Proven experience in digital design, UX, and customer-centred journeys.
  • Strong understanding of the digital purchase journey for service-based businesses (different from e-commerce product journeys and driven by information-led decision making).
  • 4+ years’ experience as a Digital Designer, Web Designer, UI Designer or similar. Experience designing websites and digital experiences for D2C and/or eCommerce brands. Strong portfolio demonstrating web and digital work.
  • A portfolio showcasing website, campaign, and email design work with a focus on UX and conversion.
  • Confident working in fast-paced environments with multiple stakeholders.
  • Highly proficient in design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe CC) and comfortable with basic HTML/CSS.
