IT Assistant
We are working with a fantastic school in East Surrey who are looking for 2 temporary IT Assistants to join them asap until at least Christmas but with the option to extend.
The school is a vibrant, co-educational school where you will work as a part of a team of highly professional and committed individuals. The IT Department provides vital support to the educational provision of the school. The department are a small, friendly team who are looking for a both a software and a hardware specialist to join their team. You will hold key experience in Microsoft 365 and Windows 10 hardware. Students use ipads to support their learning so knowledge in this area is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Day to day support and maintenance of the school's network and computer equipment
- Assist the Network Manager with projects, occasionally outside of normal working hours
- Provide first line support to staff and students raising by phone or a ticketing system
- Respond to incidents in a timely manner
- Diagnose and resolve basic network, software and hardware faults and perform basic maintenance repairs and upgrades.
- Test Equipment routinely to ensure it is working correctly
- Ensuring the database is kept up to date and all equipment is safe and secure when it's not being used
- Advise on Health and Safety matters associated with the use and maintenance of equipment
- Install, configure and support networked PCs, laptops, tablets and peripheral devices including printers
- Perform routine maintenance on end user devices, operating systems and applications
- Assist in the configuration, installation and testing of end user hardware and software solutions
- Assistant with the support and maintence of the school's MIS and VLE
- Support users in meeting the requirements of IT related policies and procedures.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Passion for IT and a desire to learn more
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and 365
- Experience in a similar role
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and use own initiative
- Attention to detail and flexible to working hours
