Our client is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and deliver a portfolio of technology development projects, including a major upgrade to our ERP system. This role is crucial for ensuring minimal disruption to operations while maximising value through improved functionality and efficiency. Our client is a leading FMCG wholesaler of health and wellness products, and IT excellence is central to their operation.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Work closely with internal teams to translate business needs into technical requirements, involving departments such as Warehouse, Transport, Accounts, Sales, Purchasing, and others.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of IT development projects, including scoping, planning, resourcing, budgeting, risk management, and implementation.
- Manage the ERP upgrade project, ensuring alignment with business requirements, data integrity, process efficiency, and user adoption.
- Coordinate external vendors, consultants, and technology partners to ensure effective integration with internal processes and systems.
- Develop and maintain project plans, including project charters, roadmaps, RAID logs, and status reports.
- Ensure projects follow best-practice approaches in change management, testing, training, and handover to operational teams.
- Work proactively and promote continuous improvements across the business's IT infrastructure.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in IT project management, ideally within a multi-system business environment.
- Demonstrated success delivering ERP upgrades, ideally with Microsoft Dynamics / Business Central.
- Strong understanding of systems development lifecycles (SDLC), software delivery processes, and business analysis principles.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and communicate technical information clearly.
- Experience working with third-party vendors and managing contractual deliverables.
- Solid organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on quality, timelines, and risk mitigation.
- Project management certification (e.g., Prince2, PMP, Agile/Scrum) is desirable but not essential.
