Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm Location: London (Hybrid working considered)
About the Role My client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented IT Systems Administrator to join their IT team. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the organisation’s IT systems, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and aligned with strategic objectives.
The successful candidate will manage and maintain core infrastructure, support approximately 2,000 users, and play a key role in developing the technical roadmap. You will act as a third-line escalation point, lead small-scale projects, and provide technical training to the IT team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and support IT systems, ensuring integrity, security, and availability.
- Troubleshoot complex issues and implement root fixes.
- Review systems and recommend improvements aligned with IT strategy.
- Lead development projects and system changes, liaising with stakeholders and third-party suppliers.
- Provide technical training and create documentation for the IT team.
- Conduct vulnerability reviews, daily checks, and annual audits (including cyber security).
- Deliver monthly system reports and coordinate out-of-hours support when required.
Technical Expertise
- Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, LDAP, VPN.
- Windows and Mac systems, software and services.
- VMware, Windows Server (multiple versions), SQL Server.
- MacOS Device Management using MDM.
- FortiGate Firewalls, Aruba Switching/Wireless.
- Veeam Backup solutions.
- Experience supporting large-scale environments (approx. 2,000 users).
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years in a similar technical role.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with IT best practices, standards, and statutory requirements.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively with management and vendors.
