Reed Technology is partnering with a forward-thinking organisation at the start of a major Azure transformation, transitioning its infrastructure from on-premises to the cloud. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a high-profile programme while growing your career in a modern, fast-paced environment.

We’re looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer with 5+ years of experience spanning on-prem and cloud platforms. Strong Azure expertise is essential, as you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering the organisation’s cloud journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a go-to technical expert supporting the organisation’s on-premises to Azure migration.
  • Deliver a mix of BAU support, break/fix, improvements, and project work.
  • Perform early-shift checks and system testing to ensure platform stability and smooth production releases.
  • Act as an escalation point for 3rd-line incidents and complex technical issues.
  • Drive infrastructure security improvements, working closely with the Security team.
  • Manage and monitor backup and disaster recovery solutions, contributing to infrastructure design where required.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Senior Infrastructure or Cloud Engineer, with strong Azure expertise, including Azure IaaS, VM hosting, core networking, and hands-on on-prem to Azure migration experience.
  • Solid hands-on background in on-premises infrastructure, including VMware, Microsoft Server technologies, Microsoft 365, Veeam, and Zerto.
  • Strong 3rd-line troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • A positive, adaptable can-do attitude, with excellent communication and stakeholder-facing skills.

Benefits:

  • Permanent position with a salary of up to £60,000 (DOE).
  • Hybrid working model – 4 days on-site in outer Glasgow with 1 day working from home.
  • Good pension contribution scheme and holiday package.
  • Early finish on Fridays, supporting a healthy work-life balance.
