FrontEnd Engineer
Overview
We're looking for an experienced Frontend Engineer to join a Digital team on an initial 3-6 month contract, working remotely and inside IR35. This is a hands-on delivery role for a contractor who can quickly embed into an agile environment and contribute to building high-quality, scalable digital products.
You'll work closely with designers, engineers, and product stakeholders to deliver clean, maintainable frontend solutions, helping shape user-focused experiences while supporting rapid, iterative delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain frontend applications using modern React-based technologies
Work collaboratively with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality features
Contribute to technical design decisions, ensuring solutions are scalable and maintainable
Write and maintain unit tests to support robust and reliable codebases
Support continuous improvement of development practices, tooling, and pipelines
Actively participate in agile ceremonies and delivery activities
Essential Skills & Experience
Extensive experience developing frontend applications using React
Strong experience with Next.js
Hands-on experience using Apollo GraphQL
Solid understanding of unit testing, ideally using Jest and/or Vitest
Excellent software design, problem-solving, and debugging skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows
Ability to onboard quickly and deliver effectively in a contract environment
