Business Systems Apprentice

As a Business Systems Apprentice, you'll combine business skills with data analysis, working with different teams to improve processes and help the business run smoothly.

Role

  • Manage user issues by troubleshooting to identify the root cause, resolving problems and/or escalating to the next level of support. 
  • IT Administration – setting up new users and modifying user permissions. 
  • Support Senior Analysts with testing of new systems and process changes. 
  • Work with data in Excel, Power Pivot, and/or Tableau to provide reports and analytics for operational teams. 
  • Automate processes using Power Automate, Python scripting, Excel, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools. 

Training

During your apprenticeship, you will receive two types of training.On-the-job training will be delivered by Schneider Electric, your employer.

You’ll receive training and supervision to help you perform your role.

This will include skills and knowledge that are outside of the apprenticeship but necessary for the job. In addition to ‘on-the-job’ training, they will support you in other ways to ensure your success. 

Types of support will include:A comprehensive inductionMentoring or regular one-to-one guidanceSocial enrichment and networking opportunitiesPerformance reviewsMental health and wellbeing support Feedback opportunities.

Off-the-job training will be provided by a carefully selected training provider during your normal working hours. 

You will spend at least 20% of your working hours (approximately 6 hours per week) completing ‘off-the-job’ training.

This is protected time and a requirement for apprenticeship delivery. 

This training will teach you the knowledge, skills, and behaviours outlined in the apprenticeship standard, enabling you to achieve occupational competence.

After successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to move into your permanent position.
