Technical Project Manager

Technical Project Manager – Audio Visual (AV) South West (Bristol / Exeter region) £37,000 – £40,000 + bonus | Mon–Fri 08:00–17:30 (1hr lunch) | Occasional overtime

I’m supporting a long-established, award-winning AV solutions provider in the search for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join their successful Southwest operation. This organisation is one of the UK’s most innovative Audio-Visual integrators, delivering state-of-the-art systems for Higher Education, corporate, and industrial clients nationwide.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a technology-driven professional who thrives in a customer-facing, project-led environment. The role is region-based and will align with your location across the Bristol / Exeter area.

The Role

You’ll work closely with sales, admin and technical teams to deliver exciting AV projects from initial tender through to final handover. Responsibilities include:

  • Technical system design and product specification.
  • Coordinating project planning, scheduling and programme documentation.
  • Creating and overseeing technical drawings, schematics, scopes of work and related documentation.
  • Liaising with consultants, clients and main contractors—both on and off site.
  • Managing system testing, configuration and commissioning (workshop and field-based).
  • Preparing and coordinating Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals.
  • Supporting projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard.
  • Participating in internal Technical Working Groups to support continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Experience in AV or a closely related technical field—highly desirable.
  • System design and schematic creation experience.
  • AV industry accreditations such as AVIXA/InfoComm CTS (General, CTS-I or CTS-D), CEDIA, or relevant academic qualifications.
  • Strong communication skills and calmness under pressure.
  • A detail-focused, highly organised and proactive approach.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines with occasional additional hours.
  • IT literacy, including MS Office and preferably Visio, AutoCAD LT or similar (training provided).
  • Experience coordinating teams across multiple sites.
  • Full UK Drivers Licence
