Senior IT Project / Programme Manager Permanent | Hybrid (2-3 days per week onsite) | North Birmingham Salary: circa £85,000 + bonus & comprehensive benefits We are working with a leading global consultancy to recruit an experienced Senior IT Project / Programme Manager for a permanent role based in North Birmingham, offering hybrid working (2-3 days per week onsite). This is a high-impact leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and enjoys delivering large-scale technology change across public sector and enterprise clients. The Role As a Senior IT Project / Programme Manager, you will take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of large, complex IT and technology programmes. You will lead multi-disciplinary, multi-supplier teams, manage senior stakeholders, and ensure delivery against scope, time, budget, and quality expectations. You will operate in highly visible environments, providing strong leadership, commercial awareness, and delivery assurance across the full project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end delivery of large and complex IT/technology projects and programmes Provide strong leadership to multi-disciplinary and multi-supplier teams within matrix environments Develop and manage detailed project and programme plans, schedules, risks, dependencies, and delivery rhythms Engage and influence senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment and successful outcomes Manage budgets, forecasting, change control, and value delivery Apply agile and hybrid delivery approaches, driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency Demonstrate commercial acumen, including experience with fixed-price and time & materials contracts Produce clear, data-driven reporting to support governance and decision-making Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture Skills & Experience Proven experience delivering large-scale IT or technology programmes at a senior level Strong end-to-end project and programme delivery experience in complex environments Solid understanding of agile delivery practices and programme governance Excellent stakeholder management skills, including engagement at senior/executive level Experience leading multi-disciplinary and multi-supplier teams Strong financial and commercial acumen, including budget management and forecasting Demonstrated ability to proactively manage risk, issues, and dependencies Exceptional planning, organisation, and communication skills What's on Offer Circa £85,000 base salary Bonus and comprehensive benefits package Permanent role with long-term career progression Hybrid working - 2-3 days per week onsite in North Birmingham Opportunity to lead high-profile, complex technology programmes with real impact
