Financial Controller

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled, ambitious EU & UK Financial Controller to join a fast-growing, acquisitive software group. This is a key leadership position within the finance function, responsible for financial control, group reporting, and technical accounting across multiple entities and jurisdictions. This is a hybrid working opportunity 1-2 days a week at the offices in central London.

This role is ideal for a technically strong, hands-on finance professional with experience in complex consolidations, multi-GAAP frameworks, and acquisition accounting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review consolidated group financial statements, including foreign subsidiaries
  • Lead acquisition accounting for new acquisitions, including purchase price allocations and integration
  • Maintain and oversee group consolidation processes and intercompany eliminations
  • Manage multi-book accounting structures for reporting under multiple GAAP frameworks
  • Drive finance process improvements and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and UK GAAP
  • Act as a key finance partner to FP&A and senior stakeholders
  • Own audit processes and liaise with external auditors
  • Oversee balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, and accounting judgments
  • Support and develop the wider finance team

Systems & Tools

  • Strong experience with NetSuite (highly desirable)
  • ERP systems in multi-entity, multi-currency environments
  • Exposure to automation and finance system optimization

Candidate Profile

  • Practice Trained Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent)
  • Strong acquisition accounting and consolidation experience
  • Experience managing foreign entities within a consolidated group
  • Practical experience with multi-book accounting systems
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and UK GAAP
  • Detail-oriented with strong technical accounting capability
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging senior stakeholders

Hybrid Arrangement

  • 1 - 2 days a week in central London
