Design Engineer – Electronic Security & Smart Building
The Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and coordination of electronic security and smart building systems, including CCTV, access control, and integrated building technologies. The role involves supporting tender submissions, engaging directly with clients, and ensuring solutions meet technical, operational, and commercial requirements.
Key Responsibilities
System Design & Engineering -
Design electronic security systems including CCTV, access control, intruder detection, and related infrastructure
Develop integrated smart building solutions, incorporating security, ICT, and building management systems
Produce detailed design documentation, including drawings, specifications, schematics, and system architectures
Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices
Support value engineering and technical optimisation of solutions
Tenders & Proposals -
Provide technical input for tenders, bids, and proposals
Prepare technical descriptions, system designs, and equipment schedules for submissions
Support pricing and scope definition in collaboration with commercial and project teams
Review client specifications and translate requirements into compliant technical solutions
Project Support -
Provide engineering support during project delivery, installation, and commissioning phases
Review installation drawings and technical submittals
Assist with system testing, commissioning strategies, and handover documentation
Technical Skills -
Strong knowledge of CCTV systems, access control, and electronic security technologies
Experience with smart buildings and integrated systems (security, ICT, BMS, PSIM, etc.)
Understanding of networking principles (IP-based systems, VLANs, PoE, cybersecurity basics)
Ability to interpret and produce technical drawings and specifications
The role will be 2/3 days in the office in Central London & the rest remote
