Senior / Lead Java Developer
Sanderson are working closely with a leading consultancy, who are supporting large public sector clients through major transformation programmes. As part of this journey, they are looking to build out a new engineering team, starting with hiring a number of Senior and Lead Software Developers!
As part of the engineering team, you would be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying robust, scalable software solutions using technologies like Java, Spring Boot, and AWS. You'd also mentor engineers, contribute to architectural decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical excellence and alignment with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions using modern technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
- Lead or contribute to architectural decisions, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical best practices.
- Mentor and support engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and high performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, UX/UI, DevOps, and QA to deliver impactful solutions.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks to ensure efficient and reliable delivery.
- Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive improvements in code quality and development processes.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience in full-stack software engineering, including design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable, secure applications.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and AWS, with additional experience in Python desirable.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, drive technical excellence, and promote best practices.
- Experience designing and implementing robust software architectures, including containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), infrastructure as code, and event-driven systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders, contribute to hiring and bid processes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
This is a full-time, permanent role, offering salaries ranging from £55,000 to £80,000 (Depending on Experience) and a fully remote working model.
