Overview:

We're looking for an experienced, personable and passionate UX / Service Designer to join a mission lead / purposeful organisation as they work on a range of very interesting and meaningful projects that will improve society.

You'll be responsible for shaping and delivering complex, user-centred services that accelerate the adoption of advanced digital technologies. Operating at the intersection of technology, innovation, and user experience, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of services, ensuring that user needs, business objectives, and technical opportunities are seamlessly integrated.

You'll support the clients mission to unlock barriers to technology adoption, foster inclusive and sustainable growth, and position the UK as a global leader in digital innovation, while ensuring alignment with the overarching vision and strategy set by the Head of Design.

You will work with minimal support, collaborating closely with subject matter experts, programme directors, and multi-disciplinary teams to define project direction, embed best practices, and deliver high-impact outcomes. Drawing on your expertise in human-centred design and research you will identify and address complex challenges, translating insights into actionable strategies, prototypes, and solutions that deliver measurable value for users, clients, and partners

What were looking for;

  • Facilitate and lead collaborative design and research activities-including workshops, stakeholder interviews, co-creation sessions, and prototyping-ensuring the effective translation of insights into actionable service solutions
  • Ensure all design artefacts (such as service blueprints, journey maps, and prototypes) are robust, evidence-based, and capable of informing both strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams-including product lifecycle managers, engineers, researchers, and business analysts to ensure the seamless integration of service design within broader projects and organisational objectives
  • Lead the continuous improvement of service design processes and practices to maximise efficiency, quality, and value for users and clients, ensuring alignment with the clients standards for operational excellence.
  • Champion design-led approaches and the integration of service design principles with operational practices, ensuring that every service touchpoint is both user-centric and operationally robust.
  • Oversee the end-to-end management of service design projects, from scoping and planning through to delivery and evaluation, ensuring all outputs meet agreed quality standards and project objectives.
  • Define, document, and maintain service design standards, templates, and methodologies, ensuring consistency and excellence across all design outputs.
