Interim Finance Systems Administrator

Location: London (hybrid working available)Contract: Interim for 3 months Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a Finance Systems Administrator to provide temporary cover and support the day-to-day operation of the finance systems within a prestigious Central London Education establishment. This role plays a key part in ensuring finance systems run smoothly, data remains accurate, and users across the establishment are well supported.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Finance Systems Manager, Finance team, and IT, you will help deliver a reliable and effective finance systems service.
  • Support the administration of the finance system, including user access, cost centres, and master data
  • Assist with setting up and maintaining user access permissions in line with agreed policies
  • Help maintain expense and purchase order systems.
  • Provide first-line support for finance system queries, escalating issues where appropriate
  • Act as a day-to-day point of contact for finance system users across the establishment
  • Respond to general finance systems queries in a helpful, user-focused manner
  • Manage and update the ticketing system
  • Assist with standard reports and respond to basic reporting request
  • Support data accuracy checks and help investigate discrepancies
  • Assist with administration of banking, expenses, and credit card systems as required
  • Process applications and act as a first-line contact for related queries
  • Support finance systems projects as required
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as assigned by the line manager

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a finance, systems, or administrative role
  • Basic understanding of finance processes such as purchasing, expenses, or payments
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Good problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong communication skills with a supportive, user-focused approach
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Exposure to finance or ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP, NetSuite)
  • Basic understanding of financial reporting
  • Experience supporting system users or providing training
  • Familiarity with reporting tools or dashboards (e.g. Power BI)
