Data Visualisation Developer

The Company:

A Manchester‑based, data‑driven technology business is expanding its analytics function and hiring a Data Visualisation Developer to own how internal teams and customers see and use data. The company uses digital behaviour data to help leading organisations understand how people actually use apps, websites, streaming and e‑commerce platforms.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design, build and maintain dashboards and reports in Amazon QuickSight that surface key metrics, trends and insights.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand their questions and translate them into clear, intuitive data visualisations.
  • Apply data visualisation, UX and accessibility best practice so dashboards are easy to use, consistent and interpretable.
  • Align dashboards with curated datasets and standardised business metrics in partnership with analytics engineering and data architecture.
  • Scope and understand available datasets, designing robust views or models that underpin reliable reporting.
  • Develop and enhance customer‑facing dashboards that show how end‑users interact with digital products.
  • Monitor performance and usage of dashboards, gather feedback and iterate to improve clarity, usability and impact over time.

What you’ll bring

  • Solid experience designing and building BI dashboards in a commercial environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with a modern BI tool – Amazon QuickSight, Power BI, Tableau or Looker; QuickSight experience is a strong advantage.
  • Strong grasp of data visualisation best practice and data storytelling.
  • Experience working with curated datasets / standardised metrics and an appreciation for consistent business definitions.
  • Confidence working with stakeholders to refine requirements, challenge vague asks and iterate on dashboards.

Nice to have:

  • Direct experience with Amazon QuickSight in an AWS‑based environment.
  • Experience building customer‑facing dashboards, not just internal MI.
  • Experience collaborating with analytics engineers or data architects on data models and reporting layers.

Who you are:

  • Pragmatic and delivery‑focused; comfortable with a clear brief to build data visualisations that stakeholders and customers rely on.
  • Open to feedback and iteration, treating dashboards as products to be refined rather than one‑off deliverables.
  • Collaborative, enjoying close work with an Analytics Platform Lead, engineers and business stakeholders.
  • Keen to be part of a close‑knit, high‑performing team and looking for a long‑term move rather than a short stop‑gap.

Permanent residency in the UK is required, and the client is specifically looking for someone who can commit for the long term.
