Technical Services Officer – Temporary Contract (12 Weeks) Location: Leyland, PR25 Rate: £21.09 per hour (LTD)Hours: Full TimeI’m working on behalf of a valued client who is looking for an experienced Technical Services Officer to join their Digital Services team on a 12-week temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong technical background to provide high-quality first and second line support within a busy IT environment.The Role: You’ll be delivering a responsive and effective technical support service, ensuring IT systems run smoothly so staff can carry out their work with minimal disruption. You will:

• Act as a first point of contact for IT queries via phone, email, and self-service.
• Log, prioritise, and manage incidents through to resolution.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
• Carry out hands-on fixes including installs, upgrades, and configuration.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine checks on PCs, printers, and peripherals.
• Support the organisation’s infrastructure including VDI, servers, telecommunications, and Microsoft environments.
• Maintain knowledge base articles, FAQs, and documentation.
• Uphold SLAs and provide excellent customer service at all times.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in a first or second line technical support role.
• Strong understanding of desktop operating systems, Active Directory, networking principles, and standard hardware builds.
• Confident communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters in a user-friendly way.
• High attention to detail and a genuinely customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a busy IT team.
• ITIL knowledge or Microsoft certifications (MCP/MCSA/MCSE) are desirable but not essential.

Additional Information:

• Some travel between sites may be required.
• Participation in rota cover (8am–6pm) and occasional paid overtime may be expected.
• You must be able to lift and handle IT equipment when needed.
