Management Accountant

Sharp Consultancy are once again working alongside an outstanding IT services business in Sheffield as they are looking to recruit a Management Accountant into their team.

Due to a recent acquisition, this business now is continuously growing and as part of that have created this new position within the team. Reporting into the newly promoted FD, you will have responsibility within the day-to-day finances as well as supporting the decision making in the business.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support in the preparation of profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and highlight trends or areas of concern.

Cost Analysis and Controls

  • Support cost analysis projects to identify savings opportunities.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor and reconcile expenditure against budgets.

Transaction Support

  • Reconcile key accounts, including bank reconciliations and control accounts.
  • Process accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
  • Assist with year-end audits and liaise with external auditors as required.

Business Partnering

  • Work closely with operational teams to provide financial insights and support.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand financial needs and challenges.
  • Present financial data in a user-friendly format for non-finance stakeholders.

Process Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency of financial operations.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging financial technologies.
