Sparta Global is seeking motivated and technically minded individuals to join our
DevOps & Cloud Engineering pathway
, supporting large-scale, mission-critical digital platforms within the public sector.

As a
Junior DevOps Engineer
, you'll play a key role in supporting and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure, enabling secure and reliable services used by tens of thousands of users, and contributing to major digital transformation programmes across the UK.

About the Role

  • Assist in building, maintaining, and supporting secure cloud and platform infrastructure for large-scale systems
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and deployment across development and production environments
  • Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud teams to automate processes and improve system reliability
  • Apply critical thinking to troubleshoot infrastructure and platform issues
  • Work closely with senior engineers and stakeholders to ensure availability, scalability, and compliance

The ideal candidate will be based in or able to commute to
Newcastle
, with
on-site attendance required Monday to Friday
.

We're Looking For

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills — the ability to think critically, not just follow tickets
  • Foundational understanding of
    IT, Linux, networking, DevOps, or cloud principles
    (AWS, Azure, or GCP exposure beneficial)
  • Prior experience in team-facing or client-facing environments within IT or technical operations
  • A proactive mindset and desire to build a long-term career in
    DevOps & Cloud Engineering
  • SC eligibility required
    (UK resident for the past 5 years)

Salary & Benefits

  • £25,000–£30,000 per annum
    (performance-based progression)
