Job Responsibilities/Objectives
We are currently seeking to recruit experienced Fibre splicing Engineer in Kent and West Sussex. Engineer will be responsible for Fibre splicing, supporting the team on pre-sales activities, attending customers technical meetings, implementing projects safely, on time, and meeting and exceeding our customers specifications for quality. Fibre Engineer will be working closely with Project Manager & Operational Quality Health & Safety teams.
- Splice various types and sizes of fibre optic cable including single mode, multimode, stranded and ribbon.
- Have ability to do risk assessment & closely monitor site activities in regards with health and safety.
- Installation of closures, couplers, ODFs & BT Cabinets.
- Reviews, interprets and works with various maps, drawings and blueprints and testing documents.
- Performs daily tests, checks and maintenance of splicing and testing equipment.
- Must possess the knowledge to identify and understand the difference between Multi-mode and Single-mode fibres; CAT 3 and CAT 5; Riser; Fibre optic; PVC, riser rated and plenum cable; Plenum and PVC environments
