Business Development Manager - Hazardous Waste

Talent STEM are supporting a UK hazardous waste services provider in the recruitment of a Business Development Manager Hazardous Waste.

This is a UK wide role and as such the role offers hybrid working. You will work from home, meet customers across the UK, and make occasional visits to company locations as required.

The Opportunity

As Business Development Manager, you will lead the commercial growth strategy for the hazardous waste division. The focus will be on securing new business, strengthening customer engagement, and positioning the organisation competitively within a regulated and technically demanding market. This position suits someone who enjoys building relationships, driving sales activity, and creating a clear direction for commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead UK new business development activity within hazardous waste

- Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline aligned to strategic growth goals

- Oversee the complete sales process from prospect identification to contract close

- Work closely with technical, operational, and compliance teams to shape customer solutions

- Monitor market trends and gather insight to support pricing and positioning decisions

- Represent the business with external stakeholders including producers and service partners

- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to a small commercial tea

- Maintain awareness of relevant legislation and ensure commercial activity meets regulatory standards

What We re Looking For

- Proven experience selling hazardous waste services to the chemical or pharmaceutical sectors

- Strong track record of business-to-business sales and winning new clients in regulated, service-led technical markets

- Confident communicator with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build long-term customer relationships

- Understanding of hazardous waste regulations and compliance requirements

- Background in a science, technical, or environmental discipline is advantageous

- Experience coaching and developing a small commercial team while setting clear sales direction
