About the Role We are looking for a Lead Engineer to join a highly technology driven organisation focused on building enterprise grade AI solutions used by thousands of colleagues across the business.
This is a hands on leadership role where you will guide a Generative AI feature team, shaping the organisation's approach to Large Language Models and the broader AI strategy. Rather than simply maintaining existing systems, you will be responsible for designing, developing and deploying innovative AI powered applications that improve operational efficiency and deliver real business value.
You will work closely with product, design and engineering teams, taking ownership of end to end delivery while acting as a subject matter expert in Generative AI.
Responsibilities* Lead the design, development and deployment of high quality AI driven software solutions.* Collaborate cross functionally to define requirements and ensure strong alignment between technical execution and business needs.* Promote engineering excellence through code reviews, secure coding practices and effective testing strategies.* Mentor and support team members, helping to develop technical capability and improve performance.* Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring strong governance and controls.
Skills and Experience* Strong programming expertise with Python.* Hands on experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs).* Experience with cloud services - AWS preffered* Knowledge of LLM evaluation, testing and prompt optimisation.* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and work effectively in cross functional teams.* Experience mentoring and developing engineers, with a focus on technical excellence and continuous improvement.
