3rd Line IT Systems Support Engineer
- £50,000 – £55,000 per annum
- Witney (with 1 day per week in Henley)
- Full-time / Permanent
- Office-based (with some flexibility).
- Discretionary Bonus
- Additional Financial Benefits
We’re looking for a talented and proactive 3rd Line IT Systems Support Engineer to join a small but highly capable IT team, supporting colleagues across multiple sites. This is a hands-on, varied role where you’ll combine technical expertise with excellent communication skills to keep systems running smoothly and users happy.
About the Role
This is a great opportunity to join a friendly, close-knit IT team where your expertise will make a real difference every day. You’ll enjoy variety in your work, the chance to develop your skills further, and the satisfaction of supporting colleagues across the business. You’ll be based primarily in our Witney office, with one day each week in Henley (plus occasional visits to remote offices). As part of the internal IT team, you’ll provide second and third line support—handling everything from troubleshooting and problem resolution to managing projects and working with third-party suppliers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering second & third line response to IT queries and incidents—via phone, remote support, and deskside assistance.
- Installing and configuring hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
- Supporting and managing systems in a Microsoft Cloud and Azure environment.
- Liaising with senior IT team members on escalations or recurring issues.
- Contributing to IT planning to support business growth and improve efficiency.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with external IT suppliers.
- Identifying and recommending service improvements.
- Participating in occasional out-of-hours or weekend support.
About You
We’re looking for someone with a mix of technical skills, problem-solving ability, and a collaborative approach. You’ll have:
- Strong experience in Windows OS (server and client).
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and ideally Microsoft 365.
- Awareness of Citrix, VMWare or similar virtualisation technologies (desirable).
- Knowledge of servers, networking, firewalls, UPS, desktops, laptops, thin clients and printers.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A methodical approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Experience in the financial services sector would be a bonus, but it’s not essential.
