Power BI Modeller

I am working with an exciting organisation that has experienced rapid growth in recent years, reaching c.£20m annual turnover and c.150 employees. As they continue to grow they are looking to optimise their reporting model, bring in more automation and strengthen financial systems.  Role Purpose 
  • Design and build Power BI reports and dashboards to replace existing Excel-based reporting.
  • Streamline and automate the monthly management accounts reporting process.
  • Create user-friendly reporting outputs for non-finance budget holders.
  • Develop a Power BI dashboard to automate and simplify:
    • Accrual tracking for associate college delivery
    • Payment calculations and validation
    • Visibility for finance and regional teams
  • Reduce manual data handling and improve accuracy and timeliness of payments.
  • Work with data from:
    • Microsoft Dynamics (core finance system)
    • SAP Concur (expenses and purchase ledger)
  • Help identify and resolve reporting gaps caused by system limitations or current workarounds.
  • Support improvements to the purchase order and purchase ledger reporting processes.
  • Work closely with the finance team to understand current pain points.
  • Engage with regional and operational staff to ensure reporting meets real-world needs.
  • Provide basic documentation and knowledge transfer for ongoing use of reports.
Required Skills & Experience Essential
  • Strong hands-on experience building Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (Finance) data structures
  • Experience working with finance data (GL, accruals, purchase ledger, costs)
  • Ability to work independently and deliver at pace in a growing organisation
  • Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working with imperfect data/processes
  • Experience integrating data from SAP Concur
