Agile Delivery Manager

Location: Remote (UK-based) with travel to Manchester once per month

Clearance Required: BPSS

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: March (with potential extension)

Day Rate: £450 (inside IR35) per day (ideal) / up to £475 (Inside IR35) per day

We are seeking an experienced Agile Delivery Manager to support a central government programme. This role suits someone with strong experience delivering complex digital services in the public sector, with proven success in agile environments and excellent stakeholder engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support agile delivery teams to ensure successful outcomes against agreed goals.
• Facilitate agile ceremonies (stand-ups, retros, sprint planning, etc.) and remove blockers to maintain momentum.
• Maintain clear and proactive communication with stakeholders across central government.
• Ensure delivery aligns with GDS standards and internal governance.
• Track delivery metrics, risks, dependencies, and progress, providing transparent reporting.
• Work collaboratively with Product, BA, Technical, and User-Centred Design colleagues.
• Support continuous improvement of delivery practices within the team.

Required Experience & Skills

• Demonstrated success delivering digital services in line with GDS principles.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills – particularly within large government organisations.
• Experience managing dependencies, risks, and delivery plans in complex programmes.
• Ability to build trust quickly and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• BPSS clearance (or willingness to undergo).
